New facility means more staff on Belfast Wateont

Belfast Wateont, the Northern Ireland capital's conference and exhibition centre, has appointed five new staff to meet the increasing demand for its new conference facility due to open in spring 2016. The recruitment drive means the centre's sales and marketing team is nearly doubling in size. The new addition to the centre will double the venue’s event space to 7,000sqm and enhance its technology capabilities. Royal Academy unveils £50m masterplan

A word-famous gallery has unveiled radical plans for enlarged public areas. The Royal Academy in Mayfair will spend  £50m on new developments, which will unite two halves of the site for the first time. The plans include a 260-seat lecture theatre, an expansion of teaching areas and space dedicated to displaying students’ work.

Three medical association wins for ICC Birmingham

The International Convention Centre (ICC) Birmingham has announced it is to host the British Nuclear Medicine Society and the Association of Breast Surgery for the first time, as well as welcoming the return of the British Association of Dermatologists.

Organisers of all three events cited the ICC’s central location as one of the key factors for choosing the venue.
