Dublin bags events worth €27million

Tourism chiefs in Dublin have hailed a string of conference business wins. Miriam Kennedy, head of Business Tourism with Fáilte Ireland, said 51 national events snared by the Irish capital between 2016 and 2019 will add to 20,000 international business tourists already scheduled to come to Ireland. New facility means more staff on Belfast Wateont

Belfast Wateont, the Northern Ireland capital's conference and exhibition centre, has appointed five new staff to meet the increasing demand for its new conference facility due to open in spring 2016. Manager at teambuilding venue slams mock-beheading video

The manager at a teambuilding venue has insisted her staff had no knowledge of an "abhorrent" Isis-style execution video made on her premises. Simone Schehtman, manager at Teamworks Karting in Fazeley Street, Digbeth, said the Isis-style mock beheading, filmed by HSBC workers, was carried out behind the back of her staff. She said her workers have been scouring booking records to try to find out when the HSBC group responsible for the video were at the track. World Travel Market unveils stand figures

A trade show has released its on-stand meeting figures. WTM London, at ExCeL in East London last year featured more than 1.1 million on-stand business meetings. In total, 1,124,403 on-stand business meetings took place at WTM 2014. The most on-stand meetings are held in the European region (including UK and Ireland) with a total of 412,060 meetings taking place.
