Dublin bags events worth €27million

Tourism chiefs in Dublin have hailed a string of conference business wins. Miriam Kennedy, head of Business Tourism with Fáilte Ireland, said 51 national events snared by the Irish capital between 2016 and 2019 will add to 20,000 international business tourists already scheduled to come to Ireland. Dublin bags nine association events

A major international events centre has boosted its tally of association wins. The Convention Centre Dublin (The CCD) has contracted nine international association conferences, ranging in size from 600 to 2,200 delegates. Tourism chiefs say the events will generate revenue more than €13m (£9m) for the city’s economy. The events include the British Elbow and Shoulder Society’s annual scientific meeting, the Motor Neurone Disease Association’s annual International Symposium and the Association of Anaesthetists of GB & Ireland annual congress.
