A council has ploughed £900,000 into a new events organisation. The conference and events team in York has been merged with Science City York and the York Economic Partnership. The new body, dubbed Make It York, is expected to create 700 jobs, with at least 500 to be paid above national median wage of £11.62 an hour. It will help 500 business and creative/cultural organisations to improve their permances, and provide information to 1,000 businesses, start-ups and organisations.
