University of Westminster offers free event design lectures to industry
Event professionals wanting to know more about event design and technology have the opportunity to attend a series of free lectures at The University of Westminster this autumn.
The School of Architecture and Cities will be hosting the Event Design Lecture Series on Monday evenings from 7th October to 9th December 2019, at their central London Marylebone campus.
The lecture series sees ten experts exploring various design and technical approaches to creating immersive live experiences.
The University of Westminster initiative is being supported Protec European Events and Event Tech Lab.
Professor Harry Charrington, head of architecture and cities, stated: “This is a great initiative. The university sees this as an important opportunity to share our design and technological expertise and engage with the events industry and professionals in this growing sector.”
The lectures and dates are:
11 November: Sarah Haywood, Sarah Haywood – Celebratory Design.
The varied programme is curated by Dr James Morgan, Principal Lecturer in Event Design and Technology.
Morgan has invited experienced designers, innovators, production and technical directors from Australia, Germany, Latvia and the UK to share their knowledge with both students and event professionals. The lecture series is open to all.
Morgan stated: “The university is very keen to engage with industry professionals and to assist them to further their knowledge in events design and technology.
“It is also an opportunity for students from other academic disciplines within the university and students from other institutions who have an interest in live experience design to find out about the nuts and bolts of event design.”
