Stress Matters launches Pandemics Stories collection
Stress Matters has announced the launch of its Pandemics Stories collection, a storybook that tells the stories of 40 people across the event industry.
The Stress Matters team have spent the last 10 months helping support the industry through a Support Line, Support Circles and through its Buddies Matter programme.
Laura Capell-Abra, founder of Stress Matters, said: “It really struck us how everyone’s experience of the pandemic has been so unique, and each person has a unique story to tell. We wanted to share these stories so that whatever anyone is going through, they would hopefully feel less alone as they read the stories of their peers.”
The storybook aims to "show the human side of the events industry" and "acknowledge that everyone is finding their own way through this experience". Those sharing their stories range from apprentices to founders of events businesses. Each person interviewed for the storybook shared the highs and lows they have felt since March 2020 and how the way they have coped has changed as the months have passed.
Stress Matters also aims to support those who have been made redundant with its Buy One Gift One programme, where for each person who books onto a Mental Health First Aid course, a space is gifted on a Mental Health Aware course to someone who has been made redundant.
The stories were collected pre-Christmas and before the current lockdown was announced.
