An October packed with success for Sleek

The beginning of October saw a charity challenge faced by three staff members at Sleek Events.

They completed The Prince’s Trust 90-mile Palace to Palace cycle, exceeding their fundraising target to total £811.25. Anyone wishing to top it up to £1,000 can donate here: www.justgiving.com/fundraising/sleekevents

Sleek Events’ project manager Erin Corrigan has been nominated as one of CN’s 30 Under Thirty. The team has also been shortlisted for the Startups Awards’ Best B2B Business of the Year category, with founder Jennifer Davidson also making the finals for the Women in Business Award.

s3Three days later Jennifer attended the awards gala for The Best Business Women Awards held at Tewin Bury Farm, Welwyn, where she was shortlisted for two awards. She won Best Woman in Business Services, with the judges saying: “This is a great business which has grown by reputation and hard work.

“Jennifer is a clear expert in her industry and has an impressive list of global companies as clients. The entry relayed her incredible business journey of her growing events business with a real focus not only on great customer service but the wellbeing of both employees and clients.”

Debbie Gilbert, organiser of The Best Business Women Awards said: “We were delighted with the number of entries this year, which came in from all over the UK. This is a tough competition judged by business experts. To win is a major achievement.

“Winners were selected for their business acumen, determination, creativity and tenacity. Our winners are shining examples of being amazing entrepreneurs who have proved their success to our judges and have showed they have the ingredients worthy of being recognised and rewarded.”

Davidson said: “I’m so pleased the team has received all this recognition over the last six months. We’re really looking forward to the awards ceremonies coming up at the end of this month and in November. It really shows what you can achieve with a solid team culture and ensuring a healthy work-life balance for everyone. And yes, we are a bit saddle-sore too!”
