New Tate store provides virtual reality recreation of artist’s studio

From 13 September – January 2019, the worlds of art, technology, printing and gifting will come together under one roof for a new Tate experience at Bicester Village.

The experiential store will be spread across 325sqm, with different rooms catering to those who want to learn, participate and engage with art. 

One part of the store will feature a virtual reality recreation of Modigliani’s studio, transporting guests back to Paris in the early 1900s. While listening to narrated first hand accounts from Modiligani’s friends and commentary from Tate experts, visitors can learn more about his materials and techniques.

In a space akin to a ‘living room’, fans of Tate’s famous collection will have the opportunity to create high-quality prints. Tate has created an ingenious concept that will allow guests to reproduce their own bespoke digital prints in any size to suit their home.

Guests can choose from Tate’s collections of masterpieces throughout the ages in any size and printed on paper or canvas, framed and delivered to their homes. Those hankering after beautiful coffee table books and back issues of catalogues will find these here too.
