Convention Bureau Meet Bristol has confirmed its support for Bristol Technology Showcase, which will be held on 8 November at Aerospace Bristol.

The Bristol Technology Showcase (BTS) will focus on emerging technologies and themes encompassed in the fourth industrial revolution.

The line-up of speakers includes Gerd Leonhard, author and CEO of The Futures Agency, who will lead a discussion on what it means to be human in a world dominated by technology, algorithms, data, robots and intelligence machines.

The partnership follows the recent launch of Meet Bristol’s Conference Ambassador Programme. The new project seeks to bring together local industry experts and events suppliers in order to create bids for international business events in leading sectors, such as technology.

Nick Rutherford, BTS founder, said: “We’re delighted to be bringing a new discussion to Bristol and locating it at the home of Concorde. The speed of technological change is so quick today and it’s only going to get faster, exponential change is upon us.

“It’s wonderful to be able to host an event with some amazing technology companies, speakers and wider businesses and allow delegates to experience some of these technologies first-hand. Great Bristol businesses, amazing technology and the ability to showcase and demonstrate them, it’s going to be a great day.”

Amy Bramhall, convention bureau manager, Meet Bristol, said: “It’s an exciting time for the tech industry in Bristol and we’re thrilled to be partnering with Bristol Technology Showcase for this event and Aerospace Bristol to host it in such a relevant space – underneath Concorde, an icon of modern engineering and technology, built here in Bristol.”
