Leeds welcomes international conference
Conference Leeds, the conferencing bureau for the city of Leeds, has been chosen as the host destination of The 8th International Conference on Concrete Repair, Concrete Technology and Durability.
Taking place at the Hilton Leeds City Hotel, from 11–13 July, the conference will provide a forum for those working in cement and concrete repair, practice and technology. It will also give its 70 specialist delegates the opportunity to network, transfer knowledge, updates and share research.
The conference will include appearances from keynote speakers, including Dr Rob Polder of RPCP Consultants. Furthermore, it will provide plenary sessions, workshops and presentations of abstracts by authors and experts, in collaboration with the University of Leeds and Professor Muhammed Basheer, the president of the Institute of Concrete Technology.
Following the conference, delegates will see a display of gallery interpretations and have a conference dinner at the Royal Armouries Museum.
On bringing the conference to Leeds, Professor Michael Grantham, conference co-chair of Concrete Solutions, said: “The facilities on offer in the city made it an easy destination choice for our first in-person conference in three years.”
Claire Heap, head of Conference Leeds, added: “We are thrilled to be welcoming The 8th International Conference on Concrete Repair, Concrete Technology to Leeds. The conference was originally due to take place back in 2021, so we are really looking forward to finally welcoming the many industry experts to our fantastic city.”
“Leeds’ conference offering is thriving, and our venues have worked endlessly to ensure a full conference and events schedule for 2022. We hope that the delegates attending this conference enjoy everything Leeds has to offer and look forward to hearing about their time in the city.”
