IET London: Savoy Place appoints new business development manager
IET London: Savoy Place has appointed Tom Bennett to the role of business development manager.
He will be tasked with driving new business at London’s leading STEM venue for the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).
Bennett will pro-actively generate new business into Savoy Place through managing and converting enquiries, building lasting relationships with new and existing stakeholders, and overseeing seamless delivery with the event operations and co-ordination teams.
Tom has been with the IET for two years, joining as conference and banqueting duty manager in 2016. He brings with him almost a decade of hospitality experience working in proactive and reactive event sales roles, which include The London Eye and the Barracuda boat.
Commenting on his new appointment, he said: “I cannot wait to get stuck into my new role at Savoy Place. I’m eager to continue my learning and keen to further develop the exciting plans we have installed for the venue to drive business and engage with new audiences. We’re going to continue to establish ourselves as the leading location for tech driven events and there is a lot we have to look forward to.”
Clare Davies, sales and development manager at the IET, said: “Tom joins with a wealth of knowledge of both the IET and Savoy Place. He has been with us for a number of years, so has great insight and awareness of our business operations. We are delighted to have him on the team helping drive new and existing business.”
