Chelsea FC announces launch of ReConnect

Chelsea Football Club’s event business has announced the launch of its new event, ‘ReConnect – Power of People’. The event will take place on 25 May at Stamford Bridge.

The event will feature a series of panel discussions debating issues concerning how the events industry can bounce back from Covid-19, and interactive polls with attendees that will help identify industry insights.

ReConnect will be a hybrid event, with an expected live audience of 30 alongside an online audience of 200.

Live panel discussions chaired by Conference News editor Martin Fullard will tackle the issues that matter in ensuring the sector can emerge from the Covid-19 pandemic stronger than ever. Panellists will include representatives from organisations including Hire Space, Delegate Wranglers, Story Events Ltd, London & Partners, Smyle, and more. Delegates will also be able to get involved in the debates whether they are attending in person or online.

ReConnect’s first panel discussion ‘One Industry, One Voice #WeCreateExperiences’ will help drive the One Industry One Voice campaign, the coalition of event industry campaigns, associations, and businesses that have come together to ensure a strong alignment for more effective communication, championing awareness and financial support for the event industry. The panel discussion will cover how those in the industry can adapt, innovate and collaborate to run successful live events as the world reopens.

This will be followed by a discussion on how hybrid events should be designed to simultaneously deliver across both live and digital models. The final session will focus on tackling event anxiety, and how those in the events sector can help overcome fears people may still harbour about travelling to or attending large events. As ReConnect draws to a close, panellists will be welcomed onto Stamford Bridge’s turf for photo opportunities on the centre circle.

Simon Hunter, head of venue and development at Chelsea Football Club, said: “As a major London conference venue, we want to do everything we can to help the industry emerge cleaner, greener, more collaborative, and more innovative from Covid-19. We believe the power of all of us working together in our sector to achieve the same positive objectives, will ensure it comes back stronger, ready to face challenges and eager to flourish. ReConnect is an excellent opportunity for us to gather industry leaders to discuss our future together and experience a new hybrid event format. All of us reconnecting to debate the issues that really matter to our sector now will help bring it back to life and benefit the UK economy.”
