7 things to know about After Dark…
After Dark is a new lighting trail in Chiswick House & Gardens, featuring modern lighting installations. No reindeers, fake snow or santa clauses in sight, instead vibrant, modern lighting displays showing Chiswick House and Gardens in a whole new light. It's a great event for office parties, friends, parties and partners looking to dial up their date night.
Here's seven things to know:
The trail takes around 45 minutes and starts as soon as you enter from the Dukes Avenue Gate. The trail guides you through the beautiful gardens through a series of modern lighting installations. Refreshments available at the beginning, middle and end.
The House & Kasabian
Serge Pizzorno from Kasabian created an original piece of music for the lighting show on the house. It’s a 4.5 minute classical piece inspired by this year’s beautiful Autumnal season. Serge visited Chiswick to personally sign off the house show before the opening.
Wishing Tree & Mind Charity
Our wishing tree was designed by artist Finn Thomson and is called ‘Make it Private. It’s in partnership with Mind Charity who campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding of mental health. So far the event has raised over £1000.
There is a six-metre moon hanging amongst the trees, a truly magical experience and a rare opportunity to get up close and personal with a full moon!
After Dark makes a great evening dog walk, all dogs are welcome as long as they’re kept on a lead.
Every Saturday’s and Sunday’s up until Christmas, Hackney Arts are adding a small touch of Christmas, decorate 3 baubles for £5, available in the Winter Pop Up Tent.
Winter Pop Up Bar & Street Food
The trail ends in the Winter Pop Up, a huge variety of drinks available from a special G&T, mulled wine, mulled cider and beers on tap provided by Fullers. London’s best street food provided by Taco Dave, Love Churros, The Cheese Truck and The Duckshed. You can access this area without doing the trail via the entrance off the Great West Road.
