MCI boss says BRIC nations blocked growth
The economic slowdown in emerging national economies has hurt the permance of global event organisers.
Sebastien Tondeur, CEO at MCI Global, said that instability in the Middle East has also impacted negatively on the international events industry.
MCI is headquartered in Geneva with offices in the UK and Ireland.
According to its latest financial results, EBITDA fell from €15,693,000 to €11,100,000 in 2014 and net profit fell from €5,402,000 to €790,000.
Failte Ireland targets business tourism revenue of €61.5m in 2015
Failte Ireland has secured four international conferences worth almost €2m to the Irish economy through its Conference Ambassador Scheme. The news comes as it is revealed that the tourism board is targeting an 8% growth in revenue in 2015 to €61.5m.
