Hopin acquires events marketing platform

Event management platform Hopin has acquired Attendify, an events management suite, at its hybrid event Illuminate.

As Hopin continues to expand its events offering, we spoke to Anthony Kennada, chief marketing officer, Hopin, to find out more about the acquisition. Kicking off with the reason for the acquisition.

New shadow board for EVCOM

EVCOM, a corporate events and film association, hosted its first shadow board meeting which aims to make the sector a place for young and diverse people.

The shadow board is made up of nine 18–25-year-olds, who met with the senior board and staff members of EVCOM to discuss content, events, inclusivity and youth engagement.

The members of the board are: Adam Davies; Celine Amara; Dan Rhodes; Ellie Papas; Gabriela Ferenc; Hamza Pool; Marlijn Hegge; and Vikesh Sitpura.

Living live at International Confex

Cumbria launches adventure guide

Cumbria Tourism has teamed up with Event Guides Ltd to create an interactive digital guide, dubbed the ‘Experiences Adventure Guide’.

The launch of the guide is part of the ‘The Perfect Place To Be’ recovery marketing campaign. It aims to provide people of all ages the inspiration to try new activities across Cumbria.

Fashion show director now building towards Crescendo

UK-based tailored events agency Crescendo has announced that Suzanne O’Shea has joined the company as event operations director.

O’Shea comes with experience of creating and running events for iconic fashion brands such as Tom Ford, Chanel, Estée Lauder Companies and Belstaff.

Working across Crescendo and team interactions specialists Fruitful, O’Shea will now oversee the running of virtual, hybrid and live events while also serving on the board for both companies.

Digital powerful – face-to-face valuable

Businesses expect to make 25% more revenue when able to communicate with clients face-to-face, according to research from global hospitality group Accor.

The research also indicated that face-to-face meetings were preferred over virtual, with 30% of respondents finding it difficult to gauge body language and nonverbal cues during virtual meetings.

Hopin launches live show

Event management platform Hopin has launched a series of integrated hybrid events. The first of this series, dubbed Illuminate, will take place 7 July 2021.

The shows aim to bring together thousands of event professionals globally to shape the future of in-person and digital events. The first event in the series will specifically focus on new and emergin technologies, hybrid events and Hopin’s own event production processes.
