The Publishing Show announces Lux films as video production partner

The Publishing Show, a two-day face-to-face event organised by Mash Media, has announced a partnership with independent filmmakers Lux Films.

The UK-based company offers support to brands on an international scale, with video production experience from The Olympics, Glastonbury Festival, London Fashion Week and international arena tours.

The upcoming conference and exhibition at ExCeL London, which unites professionals in publishing and the media, will take place on 1-2 September.

The Diversity In Events Awards

Diversity Ally launches “The Diversity in Events Awards”  taking place in April 2022.

The awards will celebrate, recognise and showcase the organisations and leaders who have demonstrated a commitment to being diversity and inclusion change makers and allies. Companies, organisations, brands and event managers who have pro actively incorporated, championed and demonstrated diverse and inclusive elements in their events are welcome to submit an application. 

Creative Technology starts 24-hour news channel

Creative Technology (CT) UK and Spain delivered a 24-hour news channel Mobile World Live TV (MWLTV) at GSMA.

The channel provides continuous coverage to remote and local delegates from a central news and information hub at the event. The project involved collaboration between CT’s UK and Spain-based teams that allowed for onsite footage to be transmitted to off-site attendees.

MD of Ashorne Hill retires

John Carson, managing director of training and meeting venue, Ashorne Hill and previous chair of Venues of Excellence has retired.

The industry veteran boasts an 18-year career which started in the Royal Navy and lead to managing the transformation of Ashorne Hill’s business model from in-house training centre to an award-winning venue.

Current challenges faced by the industry

At Venues and Events International, we have been greatly encouraged by the confidence in our clients for the return of in-person meetings and events. Our sales pipeline increased by 30% between April and May - an incredible achievement in just one month, and 80% of this is contracted! We typically see 55% of our annual budgeted revenue covered by the pipeline in May, but the coverage was 88% this year.
