Venues and Events International sees lead times increase
Venues and Events International reports that it is seeing clients booking events more than two years in advance to ensure great rates and venue security, despite trends shifting towards shorter lead times.
The Institute for Family Business (IFB) has been a client of Venues and Events International for over two years. IFB stages the UK’s largest conference for family-run business owners, family members and their senior staff where delegates from a wide range of sectors come together to discuss the issues and challenges of running a family business, as well to share best practice and advice.
The annual conference is run in different parts of the country alternating between the regions and London and currently securing venues in Bath for 2019. As a not-for-profit organisation, IFB want to ensure they’re continually getting the best rates for their events and plan early to ensure they get maximum attendance and have the flexibility to plan the programme well in advance, carrying out site inspections to ensure the venues are booked early.
Sima Kataria, events & membership manager from IFB said this about booking in advance; “To be able to support our association effectively, we aim to select high quality venues at the best negotiated rates, as early as possible. Since we started working with Venues and Events International, they been extremely proactive in helping us source our venues, secure the best rates and manage all the negotiations on our behalf including cancellation fees. The security of having an agent like Venues and Events International manage this on our behalf, allows us to concentrate on the day to day running of our business, communicate effectively with our members and organise marketing activities well in advance. This ensures that we have a well organised event with maximum attendance.”
Anita Lowe, chief executive for Venues and Events International says; “It’s so encouraging to see clients booking their venues this far in advance. By giving the security to the venue of confirmation of booking, allows for stronger negotiations when we’re looking at value adds and cancellation charges on behalf of our clients.”
