Recruitment drive at Manchester Central to support busy Q4

Manchester Central is looking to increase its headcount by more than 20% following a surge of event bookings which are paving the way for a busy Q4.

The venue reopened its doors over the summer and has hosted large scale events including the Housing21 conference.

Manchester Central is now seeking to recruit into a variety of permanent roles across its hospitality, sales, corporate services and events departments.

In Q4, Manchester Central has more than 100 events booked, ranging from the Manchester Art Fair to the CIPD’s annual conference. Next spring, it will also host Peter Kay’s Dance For Life.

Shaun Hinds, CEO of Manchester Central, said the business expected to increase its headcount by around 20%, taking its staff numbers above 110 people.

Hinds commented: “We have had such a fantastic re-opening, with an incredible uplift in enquiries from businesses and event organisers planning their schedules for the remainder of this year and beyond. I am so pleased that this translates into us being able to create even more jobs for the North West.

“The events and hospitality sectors were hard hit during the last 18 months, with so many people facing uncertain times. We benefited enormously from the furlough scheme but we are now starting to see a real road to recovery, which provides stability and reassurance for people both entering and re-joining this industry. We operate in an exciting, fast-paced and creative sector full of opportunities and it’s fantastic to once again be opening up our recruitment to welcome the next generation.”
