Nish Kumar booed off stage during Grosvenor House performance
Comedian Nish Kumar was booed off stage during a performance at a charity cricket dinner on Monday night.
The Lord Taverners charity feast, at London's Grosvenor House, was raising money to give vulnerable children a start in life through sport.
One guest who was offended by Kumar's Brexit jokes, threw a bread roll at the comedian.
Kumar tried to continue, making light of the situation, but was eventually forced to come off stage.
Kumar told The Guardian he was surprised by how “easily offended” the audience was, at what he described as “extremely mild jokes about Boris Johnson, Jacob Rees Mogg, Theresa May and the Brexit process not going well.”
He added: “I’m sort of amazed by how fascinated people are by the whole thing. It’s not the first time I’ve been booed off stage … I consider it, the life of being a comedian – they have a right to boo me.”
