Glasgow to host international conference

Glasgow Convention Bureau to host international conference

Glasgow Convention Bureau is set to host BRAIN and BRAIN PET 2022, an international conference focusing on brain health and function.

Although the conference is taking place from 28 May-1 June, the venue has been working with the conference organisers to help take the subject matter beyond the conference and into the local community.

Collaboration

Glasgow Convention Bureau connected the organisers with Brain Health Scotland; Glasgow City Council’s Education team; Network Rail and Buchanan Galleries to arrange a variety of events aimed at helping people to better understand how making healthy choices affects our brain.

The team also recently worked with artist and neurologist Dr Lizzie Burns and young people from six Glasgow schools to create models representing brain health.

In addition to the conference, there will be a Glasgow Brain Health Awareness Day on 28 May at Glasgow Central Station (supported by Brain Health Scotland and Alzheimer’s Scotland). At the station, there will be a giant inflatable brain that locals can walk inside.

One of the city’s indoor shopping centres will also host brain health activities for families of all ages, including the chance to ‘build-a-brain’ and make your own neurons.
