Cvent appoints head of European sales for its hospitality cloud platform

Cvent has appointed Graham Pope as head of European sales for its Hospitality Cloud platform, which offers hoteliers digital advertising and software solutions for their MICE business.

Pope has nearly 14 years of experience in the event and software-as-a-service (SaaS) spaces, and will be based at Cvent’s European headquarters in London. The news comes on the heels of the company’s recent announcement that it will double its headcount in Frankfurt and expand its employee base across Europe.

As the head of European Sales for Cvent’s Hospitality Cloud, Pope will drive continued growth in Europe and support the company’s expansion into new and emerging markets. Pope and his team will look to develop and deepen relationships with both new and existing Cvent customers to address their needs and find new ways to support their MICE and corporate business goals.

Pope commented: “It’s an incredibly exciting time to join the Cvent team. Our sourcing volume continues to grow at an incredible rate, and we’re adding thousands of new event organisers every month to our sourcing platforms; meaning ample opportunity for our hospitality clients to attract events to their properties and increase their MICE business. At the same time, our room block management and venue diagramming offerings help hoteliers delight organisers and maximise the profitability of that business. It’s an honour to be part of a company that is passionate about delivering world-class solutions that allow our clients to drive positive business results.”

Bharet Malhotra, senior vice president of sales for Cvent Hospitality Cloud, added: “Europe has always been an important hub for business meetings and events and as we have seen from our recent data on top meeting destinations, the region continues to grow in popularity. Hoteliers recognise the important role our digital marketing tools and software solutions play in their overall MICE strategy and their ability to attract their share of the growing market - nearly $19 billion of which will be sourced through our platforms this year. Graham’s wealth of experience and understanding of the marketplace means our European team can continue to deliver exemplary service while helping our clients reach new levels of success.”
