Free GDPR clinic at International Confex with RefTech

RefTech, a provider of event management systems, is offering a free drop-in GDPR Clinic on their stand (F22C) at International Confex between 10am and midday on both days of the show (26-27 February). The clinic will offer one-to-one advice from Simon Clayton (pictured), RefTech’s chief ideas officer and regular CN columnist, who is a certified GDPR practitioner and the most educated and authoritative person within the industry on the subject.

Clayton said: “GDPR is still misunderstood by many organisations, and so we are offering visitors the opportunity to bring their specific queries to me, so I can offer them a one to one meeting to discuss real solutions. Unlike many companies offering GDPR advice, our solution isn’t to tell organisers to buy our products – no one piece of software will make you GDPR compliant. Come and visit our clinic for impartial, personalised one to one advice.”

EventReference App

Visitors to the show can also download and trial the EventReference event app – the event app that will be used by IMEX Frankfurt 2019 and IMEX America 2019. The app enables organisers a powerful but simple and cost-effective app solution for their events. The app has a diary function that allows delegates to book, monitor and edit meetings with exhibitors; an interactive floor plan and exhibitor list that allows easy movement from floor plan to exhibitor descriptions and vice versa, and a fully searchable speaker programme with locations and timings.

Clayton added: “We have redefined the event app. Following extensive research, we concluded that the purpose of a good app is to provide a very fast way for a delegate to get key pieces of information - not the ‘bells and whistles’ that many other apps prioritise. Another benefit is that the EventReference app takes up very little phone storage; we have deliberately made it this way because we found that many users object to having to delete other apps to make space for an app that they’ll only use for the duration of an event.”
