New DoubleTree by Hilton hosts Hull’s tourism Oscars
Visit Hull and East Yorkshire recently recognised its tourism stars at the 9th annual tourism awards.
The event was held at Hull city centre’s first branded four-star hotel, DoubleTree by Hilton, which opened its doors just a few months ago.
Previously held at Bridlington Spa and KCOM Stadium, the Remarkable East Yorkshire Tourism Awards (REYTAs) are an annual celebration of Hull and East Yorkshire’s tourism industry; recognising the quality of businesses, individuals and the contribution they make to the area’s visitor economy.
Over 540 guests attended the glittering event in the DoubleTree’s ballroom which is the largest space of its kind in East Yorkshire.
The event was co-hosted by Blair Jacobs, BBC Radio Humberside presenter, and Kofi Smiles who reported all year on the UK City of Culture events for the BBC. Winners of 14 categories were announced during the evening as well as lots of valuable funds being raised for local charity the Smile Foundation.
'The Mercure Hull Grange Park Hotel won the Remarkable Business Tourism category at the awards.'
