Top 3 venues for environmentally-conscious parties

Personalisation is one of the most important trends in the meetings and events industry now. This refers to providing an individual experience, tailored to an attendee’s interests, morals and preferences, which in turn makes an event more effective and engaging.

If your company is looking for a London venue with strong sustainable credentials, here some tips from Hire Space.

BMA House (pictured above)

Having won awards for its sustainable practices, BMA House champions the use of the technology, control of resources, working with local suppliers to source ethical produce to bring significant benefits to communities and the supply chain.

BMA House is a Grade II listed venue located in Bloomsbury, London, offering 29 spaces for up to 320 guests.

As a not-for-profit organisation, proceeds are reinvested into its upkeep, improvement and restoration. The venue finds the balance of retaining its original features while investing in sustainable best-practice and cutting-edge AV technology and meeting facilities.

ZSL London Zoo

The recent refurbishment of the 300-capacity venue has been inspired by the zoo’s conservation work, and features energy-saving lights and natural materials throughout, including carpet recycled from discarded fishing nets.

CH&Co, ZSL London Zoo’s hospitality and catering partner of more than ten years, has committed to minimise its impact on the environment using only in-season fruit and vegetables, sustainable fish and compostable packaging.

This Grade ll listed building overlooks the kangaroos, wallabies and emus in their homely Australian Outback and offers views of Regent’s Park and Tiger Territory. By holding an event with CH&Co you will help to contribute to ZSL, a charity supporting the global conservation of animals and their habitats.

Oval Space

Multipurpose London events space, Oval Space, has this year taken the initiative to eradicate single-use plastic cups and bottles from both locations as a first step towards going completely green.

The venue replaced all plastic water bottles with a locally sourced alternative that is fully recyclable; and plastic cups have been replaced by cups made from PLA corn-starch.

The initiative replaces an average of 60,000 plastic cups and 3,200 single-use plastic water bottles per month.

Oval Space offers more than 650sqm of blank canvas space, panoramic windows and striking views of the Bethnal Green gasworks. Two open air terraces frame the space and the space is available for a wide range of events including private events, weddings and consumer events.
