Case study: Jazz-ing it up with Honda

As part of their 70th Anniversary, Honda wanted to mark this special occasion with a celebration for its associates at the Swindon manufacturing facility, and to reward them for their continued dedication and hard work with a special family ‘movie weekend’.

The use of a marquee at the Honda site in Swindon had worked well previously and with the concept of a 70th anniversary movie weekend, Honda wanted to take this one step further and go with a ‘Big Top’ marquee for a more family friendly appeal.

Inside the marquee, three recent films that were not currently available for public release, would be screened across the weekend: The Greatest Showman; Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation; Mission: Impossible – Fallout.



To provide full project management which included weekly calls and monthly pre-event project management meetings with the client and oversea the two-day installation of the 42m x 45m big top marquee, including the 9m x 12m screen and projector production set-up.

To also manage delegate welfare from professional first aiders and dedicated marshals for lost children.



We learnt a lot from delivering the Honda Innovation Expo a few months prior in regards to Honda being a live working site, and manoeuvring of vehicles in and out of the compound. Therefore, what was our biggest challenge before in setting up the marquee, became a simpler challenge this time with our previous experience.

The marquee took two days to set-up and inside was the 9m x 12m screen and full projection. With a team of four event

managers onsite we were able to spread our resources across ticketing, marshalling and even hoovering between screenings
