London mayor hails surge in tourism

In 2014, London welcomed a record-breaking 17.4 million international visitors, according to the Office for National Statistics’ International Passenger Survey (IPS). The survey shows a 3.5% increase in business and leisure stays from the previous year, where there were 16.8 million visitors. The number of visitors for business purposes reached 3.3 million. The recent surge of tourism has been beneficial to a number of businesses as visitors are spending more in the capital’s restaurants, hotels and attractions than ever before.
