CN wins award at 15th BTJAs

Conference News was among the winners at the 15th annual Business Travel Journalism Awards, which took place at London's Corinthia Hotel, 4 October. CN and its associated YouTube channel, Mash TV, picked up the award for Best Use of Digital in Meetings and Events.

The event honours journalists from national, consumer, broadcast, and trade media for their coverage of business travel and meetings & events.

Rapper, actor, and comedian Doc Brown was the event’s MC.

CN editor Martin Fullard collected the award. He said: “Print is still key to our industry, but no one can deny a strong digital strategy is just as important. In 2018 we launched a new website for CN and continued to push forward with producing our own video content. Our videographer, Karam Dhillon, has helped push this forward and I look forward to seeing where it goes over the next 12 months.”

Organised by travel management company Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT) the awards go to individual journalists, designers, and editorial teams. 

“Recognising talent in the business travel and meetings & events media is hugely important – and as we celebrated 15 years of this amazing event, it was great to see so many submissions from new journalists,” said Johan Wilson, CWT’s VP and country director UK & Ireland.

All winners will be treated to lunch at a top London restaurant, courtesy of CWT and the sponsors of the awards: United Airlines, Oman Air, Gulf Air, China Southern Airlines, Turkish Airlines, Qatar Airways, Avis Budget Group, Air China, LATAM Airlines, All Nippon Airways, and CWT Meetings & Events.
