Sussex Exchange A new conference centre with eco-friendly features and its own cinema will open 29 August, offering three rooms for conferences and meetings with capacity for 160 delegates.

The Sussex Exchange on the Enviro 21 business park in St Leonards was built two years ago as part of the Enviro 21 project, and has taken bookings for its meeting and function rooms up until next summer.

The building’s eco-friendly features include a biomass boiler that uses wood chippings or pellets to produce heating and a sewerage system that uses rainwater collected from the roof.

Sussex Exchange was funded by Sea Change Sussex, a non profit economic development agency for East Sussex.

"There is nothing of its kind in the area and we have already attracted a lot of interest," says Sea Change spokesman, Tariq Khwaja. "Business in Hastings, St Leonards and beyond can use our facilities for staff training, delegate meetings, board meetings and conferences."
