Airbnb has released a new report detailing business travel trends which have been on the rise in 2018, and are set to continue in 2019.

One notable change that occurred in 2018 was the rise in travel to destinations in Latin America and Africa.

While hubs such as London, Paris and New York remain prominent, a number of cities such as Mar Del Plata in Argentina, Guaruja in Brazil and Aguascalientes in Mexico have seen large increases in visitors.

Some of this is because of a rise in business groups travelling to historic and scenic hotspots.

The average trip on Airbnb was booked more than 35 days in advance, but business trips were booked with less notice, only 20 days in advance. The report found that travellers fro cities in Taiwan, the USA and Germany book the furthest in advance.

Airbnb Experiences – a programme which immerses travellers in local activities such as walking, biking, boating and dining – have specifically surged for business travellers.

Some of the most-booked Experiences were: Paris’ Best Kept Secrets Tour, Lakehouse Jazz & Funk in San Francisco, and Lisbon’s Best Flavours.
